The state of the public hospital, its lack of staff, of means… the debate has only intensified with the Covid epidemic, and it is urgent in countries which see their doctors and staff nurse going into exile to work in Western Europe.

The exodus of nurses from Kosovo

This is the case of Kosovo, a very young small state in the Balkans which is helplessly watching the mass exodus of all its young nursing graduates.

In just two months, 100,000 visas have been submitted to the German embassy in a country with only 1.8 million inhabitants.

There are therefore many candidates for departure, especially in the medical sector.

Some private institutions have felt the trend, they now train their nursing students according to German standards with language courses and key contracts in clinics in Berlin or elsewhere.

A real brain drain.

This is

the report in Pristina by Louis Seillier.

And in Bulgaria,

the exodus also affects doctors

.

And the state's many attempts to retain young graduates or to attract foreign students have ended in failure.

So that's the concern in a country that could soon look like a medical desert.

The health of homeless women in France

Health, care and hygiene.

It is in France a challenge for the homeless.

Two out of five homeless people are women and among them, 80% have experienced violence during their life course.

The association Agir pour la santé des femmes has given itself the mission of helping this particularly fragile public.

She has been working in Paris for 20 years and opened a branch in Lille in 2019. This is where

Modern art in Prague

It is a new cultural center installed in a former large electrical transformer.

The Kunsthalle opened its doors this week in Prague in the Czech Republic… a private museum which is already criticized for its mode of financing.
