On the 22nd, 853 new infections were announced in Ibaraki prefecture with the new coronavirus.
It's been the first time since last Tuesday that the number of announcements per day has dropped below 1,000.
A total of 65,626 people have been confirmed infected in the prefecture.
The prefecture also announced that a total of five men and women in their 70s and 90s have died.
As for the announcement on the 1st, it was the largest number along with February 10th and September 1st last year, and 19th this month, and 271 people died in the prefecture.
