Specialist in plastic surgery, Dr. Firas Hamdan

The specialist in plastic surgery and founder of Haynes Clinics, Dr. Firas Hamdan, confirmed that there are two categories of people who are not recommended by the doctor to perform plastic surgeries, either because of their imaginary requirements that are difficult to meet, or because of the health condition that does not put them in the category of people who can undergo surgeries cosmetic.

In his interview with "Emirates Today", he identified these categories and the reasons that prevent them from performing surgeries.

Dr. Hamdan talked about the two categories who cannot perform plastic surgeries in detail, and said: “We do not advise those who think of losing weight through plastic surgery, because the surgery aims to coordinate the body and not lose weight. In some cases, people come to the clinic who think about losing 20 kilograms of their weight. In this case, we can help them give them the perfect body shape through the operation and after losing weight in other ways.”

He pointed out that as a plastic surgeon, he prefers to refer these cases to be followed up by nutritionists, obesity treatment specialists, or even through sports coaches.

As for the second category, Dr. Hamdan noted that it is represented by those who have imaginary requirements, and want to imitate any famous actor, singer or personalities through social media platforms, although in many cases they are not qualified to perform these surgeries because they do not have the ingredients that allow to introduce changes that he wants in shape or even body.

Dr. Hamdan pointed out that in terms of health, the heart must be in good condition, with the absence of some diseases, including diabetes and pressure, as well as from non-smokers, in addition to the fact that it is not possible to perform surgery for those over 40 years, before a comprehensive examination of the body's health.

He explained that sometimes a diabetic patient comes to the clinic, and needs to remove the excess skin and sagging after a significant weight loss, here the patient is helped, but with surgeries that carry different criteria, including the method of tightening, the amount of skin that can be removed and the type of wound, where these important details are taken into account. .

Regarding the criteria that apply to a person to be ideal for plastic surgery, Dr. Hamdan noted that they are based on many things, including first the patient’s expectations, in addition to significantly saggy skin, or the presence of many signs on the skin, in addition to the difference in the rate of improvement From one person to another, the improvement rate may reach 80% for some.

He explained that it is necessary to look at the nature of the skin, as it must be thick and not subject to sagging, and the amount of fat that must be removed must be acceptable, and can be used and transferred to other places in the body, or even in the face.
