British businessman and YouTube star

Jamal Edwards

, founder of the music platform SBTV, has died at the age of 31, as confirmed by his team to the 'BBC'.

Edwads, whose platform helped launch the careers of artists like Ed Sheeran and Skepta, was born in Luton in 1990. In addition to his role as a businessman, he had a YouTube channel since 2006 that has more than 1.2 million subscribers.

Details about the circumstances of his death have not yet emerged, but this month he attended the Brit Awards and last Saturday he performed as a DJ at a concert in north London.
