The Kremlin judged this Monday "premature" the holding of a summit between Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden, dampening the hopes raised by the French announcement the day before on such a meeting aimed at defusing the danger of a Russian invasion of the 'Ukraine.

Western countries fear that the Russian military reinforcement on the border is the prelude to an armed intervention by Moscow, which the latter rejects, which calls for security guarantees, including Kiev's non-membership of NATO.
