A heinous crime in Iraq: They killed a woman in her sixties, burned her and hid her body in the wheel of a truck... for 700 dollars!

In a heinous crime that shook the Iraqi street, a tuk-tuk driver, with the help of another person, shot dead a woman in her sixties and burned her body after placing it inside the frame of a heavy vehicle, in the Al-Shula area of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

The victim, Aqila Qassem Al-Olaywi, 64, was killed and burned by the 22-year-old car driver, with the help of a partner who usually took her to her place of work.

According to a statement by the Iraqi National Security Agency, "a force from the agency arrested the killers of the employee of the retirement authority in the Al-Shula area of Baghdad, hours after the crime occurred."

Atheer Kamel Jallab, the victim's nephew, said: "Although my aunt was sympathetic to this criminal and improved for him, instead of giving him 5,000 dinars as a daily delivery fee, she was giving him 10,000, as he was complaining to her about the tightness of his hand, and it is a matter of charity that she doubled the amount of her wages, so that he had recently asked her to help him financially to buy a new car instead of the old one, and she had already promised to help him.”

And Jalal continued, in an interview published by “Sky News Arabia”: “But unfortunately, and as it is said, master the evil of those you have done well. It is equivalent to 700 US dollars, because after the end of her working hours she was going to see the doctor, and in anticipation of the cost of that review, she carried this amount with her.”

He added: "In addition to the money, they stole the gold jewelry that she was wearing and her mobile phones, and burned them, thinking that this would conceal their crime. But they were arrested by the National Security Service less than 24 hours after the crime was committed, and the owner of the gold store he bought from them was also arrested. The stolen jewelry and the owner of a phone shop bought my stolen phone, and they are under investigation.”

During his confession, the criminal revealed how the victim had begged not to kill her, and that she was ready to give him gold and money and would not report it, but he quickly shot her, Atheer says.

The nephew of the victim was surprised, how the murder of shooting and burning the body inside the frame of a large bulldozer and in the middle of the public street, took place without any of the security services or passers-by noticing or interfering.

He added, "We call on the Prime Minister, the Minister of Interior and the judicial authorities, to impose the death penalty on this criminal killer, and to put an end to the phenomenon of the proliferation of weapons and the proliferation of tuk-tuks, which are usually owned by young people and adolescents who commit various forms of crimes."
