- We have previously talked about that Paradise will undergo major changes, and now we are ready to reveal a little more about what it actually means, says Kenneth Kristensen, VP Non Scripted at Nordic Entertainment Group, in the press release.

In addition to the name change from Paradise Hotel to Paradise, other changes will also take place this autumn's premiere.

For example, there are no longer any requirements for participants to form pairs with each other, nor that participants must be single to be able to apply for the program.

There will also be twin beds in the rooms where the participants live.

In addition, the program will include new theme weeks that "address other topics and dilemmas than before," according to Viaplay.

The press release states that the new Paradise will have more focus on contemporary values.

When SVT Kulturnyheterna reaches Kenneth Kristensen by email on Friday, we ask him:

Does this mean that previous seasons of Paradise Hotel have not had the same focus?

- It is always a focus for us, and we are constantly developing our formats so that they feel contemporary and reflect the time we live in today, but we want to put extra focus on just this in the new Paradise format.

Participants reported abuse to the police

It was last spring that two female participants in Paradise Hotel reported abuse to the police during the recording of the program.

The male participant, who was said to have subjected them to the abuse, was sent home during the ongoing recording after repeated violations.

In connection with the events, the television company Nordic Entertainment Group chose to pause the season and then also removed the program from its streaming services.

Later in the spring of 2021, the decision was made to permanently cancel the season, which then completely stopped being shown on television.

Are the changes in the program due to the events that occurred in the spring of 2021?

- We had already started the renewal of Paradise, but after the spring events, we wanted to review parts of the format to an even greater extent, says Kenneth Kristensen to SVT Kulturnyheterna.
