Miyagi Prefecture and Sendai City announced on the 18th that it was confirmed that 782 new people were infected with the new coronavirus.
It was the fifth highest number of new infections announced in a day to date and the highest on Friday.
The total number of infected people in Miyagi prefecture is 34,031.
It also announced that two people infected with the new corona have died.
The total number of infected people who died is 128.
