Since February 7, a new panel has been debated in Saint-Cloud (Hauts-de-Seine).

Installed by the municipality near rue du Camp-Canadien, it informs cyclists that they can no longer take the racetrack promenade, as reported by our colleagues from

Parisian

on  Thursday.

According to Mayor Éric Berdoati (DVD), behind this decision, the ban was taken because of the "inappropriate behavior of certain cyclists" who, according to him, could cause an accident.

A controversial decision

The city councilor explains to our colleagues that if bicycles have been tolerated for five years on this promenade, it is indeed intended for pedestrians who are regularly honked or even garlanded by cyclists in a hurry.

Justified for some, disproportionate for others, the mayor's decision is debated.

Among the cyclists questioned, a man proposes to apply the Highway Code and to verbalize the offenders, evoking his fear of riding on the road where cohabitation with cars would not, according to him, necessarily be easier.
