(Fighting against New Coronary Pneumonia) Omicron's Intergenerational Transmission is Fast

China News Agency, Guangzhou, February 17 (Wang Hua and Zhang Hengyuan) Two people from other places in Guangzhou were diagnosed with new coronary pneumonia cases (mild) on the 15th and were infected with the Omicron variant strain, and the transmission chain has spread.

On February 17, the Guangzhou Municipal Government Information Office reported that a close contact was transferred to a confirmed case (mild) during the centralized isolation period. This case shows that the intergenerational transmission of Omicron is extremely fast, and the crowd investigation within 24 hours after the case is discovered is particularly important. important.

According to the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission, the case is a 30-year-old male who is a close contact of the case announced on the 15th.

On the same day, they were transferred to a centralized isolation site in a closed-loop as a close contact; on the 16th, the routine nucleic acid test at the centralized isolation site was positive in the initial screening, and the review results were all positive.

According to epidemiological investigation and judgment, this case and the first two cases in this round of epidemic belong to the same transmission chain.

At present, the case has been closed-loop transferred to the Eighth Hospital Affiliated to Guangzhou Medical University for isolation and treatment. It was diagnosed as a confirmed case of new coronary pneumonia (mild), and the condition is stable.

As of 12:00 on February 17, Guangzhou has screened a total of 848 close contacts and 965 close contacts, all of which have been put under management, and nucleic acids have been collected. The rest of the results were negative.

Key groups have all implemented control measures such as assigning "yellow codes" and sending reminder text messages.

No new key places were added.

A total of 112,153 nucleic acid samples were taken from the key areas of Tianhe, Huadu, Panyu and Nansha involved in this round of the epidemic, and the results were all negative.

The person in charge of the Guangzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention said that this positive case contains two important information: the rapid intergenerational transmission of Omikron; the gene sequencing results of case 1 showed that it was the Omikron sub-variant BA.2 strain , the latest WHO report pointed out that the sub-variant BA.2 strain was 30% more infectious than the original strain BA.1, which was also reflected in this outbreak.

Zhang Zhoubin, deputy director of the Guangzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention, believes that these two pieces of information have been verified again, and the crowd screening, site control, and nucleic acid screening within 24 hours after the case is found are critical to epidemic control.

He also re-emphasized the importance of carrying out home health monitoring for 7-day 3-time nucleic acid testing and 7-day self-health monitoring for key groups of health code "yellow code".
