A fraudulent Indian husband .. 14 wealthy women are owed "so far"

A 65-year-old Indian national faces multiple charges of fraud after marrying 14 women over 43 years.

Investigators in the eastern Indian region of Odisha, working on the case, said it was not difficult for Ramesh Chandra Swain to convince the wealthy and well-off women he wanted to marry.

Detective Uma Shankar Dash from Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, added: "He had wives across the country. He has admitted 14 wives so far, but we believe the real number is higher. He also fathered five children from his first two wives."

The investigator added that Swain's goal of marriage is to take his wives' money or transfer property to his name, and we have not yet counted his wealth of property and money.

Swain began his story with fraud and collecting money, after his first marriage in 1979, by getting close to divorced women, to turn in 2010 to social networking sites and marriage sites, targeting educated women in high-paid jobs, such as doctors, civil servants and lawyers, among whom are female workers. in the Supreme Court.

To justify his absence from the house, Swain was claiming that he was a health official who had to travel all the time to check on medical facilities, only to be reported to the authorities by his last wife, who worked as a teacher. During her vacation she found some text messages on his phone.

She contacted three women who were writing to him, to find out that they were married to the same man, to file a complaint with the police who arrested him and to find with him 11 bank cards, 14 bank accounts, and five different official identification cards.

According to the British newspaper, The Times, Swain faces a fine or imprisonment of up to seven years if convicted.
