In the short film section of the Berlin International Film Festival, one of the three major film festivals in the world, the animated film "Birds of the Peninsula" directed by Atsushi Wada from Hyogo Prefecture received a "special commendation".

At the Berlin International Film Festival, which celebrated its 72nd anniversary, the screening results of each division were announced on the 16th.

In the short film category, the animated film "Peninsula Birds" co-produced by Atsushi Wada, a director from Hyogo Prefecture, received a "special award" from an international judge.

In 2012, director Wada was selected for the Ginkuma Award for the animated film "Great Rabbit" in the short film category, following the highest award, and has received high praise for his delicate touch and light and soft coloring.

On the other hand, in the "Competition Category", "Alcaraz" was selected as the highest award for the Golden Bear Award, which depicts a farmer swaying due to logging in an orchard by Spanish director Carla Simon.

At this year's film festival, director Ryusuke Hamaguchi served as a judge for the "Competition Category", and "Drive My Car" was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture, which was a big topic.
