The landslide that affected Plouguiel (Côtes-d'Armor) at the end of 2020 has just been recognized as a natural disaster by the State.

Intense showers, accompanied by gusty winds for several days, had caused a landslide.

The road had then been blocked by 200 m3 of earth, recalls

A chestnut tree with roots exposed by precipitation was the cause of the phenomenon.

Its release had required the intervention of municipal services, supported by a local agricultural company and its vehicles.

The disaster is officially referred to as "dihedral landslide type landslides".

Until February 26

The decree of January 17, 2022 and published on Saturday in

the Official Journal

(JO) opens the door to compensation for the victims, who must however hurry.

Compensation is only possible within ten days from the date of publication.

The inhabitants therefore have until February 26 to provide their insurance company with an estimate of the losses caused by the landslide and claim compensation.
