China News Service, Suzhou, February 16 (Zhong Sheng and Zhou Jianlin) On February 16, Suzhou City held the third press conference on the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic.

In response to a post by a netizen claiming that the Suzhou Industrial Park was forcibly requisitioning student dormitories, Yao Wenlei, a member of the Suzhou Industrial Park Party Working Committee and deputy director of the Park Management Committee, responded, saying that the requisition had been stopped.

Yao Wenlei introduced that there are many confirmed cases in Suzhou Industrial Park, involving nearly 6,000 employees.

In order to stop community transmission, key personnel need to be isolated as soon as possible.

As of 4:00 p.m. today, there are 4,273 centralized isolation rooms in Suzhou Industrial Park, and 3,052 support isolation rooms in Brother City. There are only a few remaining rooms that meet the isolation requirements, and it may continue to increase in the future.

In order to ensure that sufficient isolation rooms can be put into use in a timely manner, on February 15, the Suzhou Industrial Park Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters issued a notice on the requisition of houses.

After receiving the relevant notice, Suzhou Industrial Park Education Development Investment Co., Ltd. and others believed that there were many rooms in Buildings 1 and 2 of Wenhua Apartment, and its location was outside Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, and it was convenient to be managed separately from other buildings. Students are in the winter break again, which is a suitable place for isolation.

Due to the rush of time, the above-mentioned companies recommended to the headquarters and decided to requisition Buildings 1 and 2 of Wenhua Apartment.

During the expropriation process, although the handling guide has been issued to the handling company, there are problems such as inadequate management, omissions in work, and disorderly handling of items, which has caused discussions and dissatisfaction among the students.

After paying attention to the relevant situation, the Suzhou Industrial Park Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters conducted a careful study in the early morning of February 16, and promptly notified the above-mentioned companies to immediately stop the requisition.

For a small number of dormitories that have been relocated, relevant companies and staff are required to handle follow-up matters in a safe and orderly manner. The company and the school also issued relevant announcements immediately, stating that they will ensure the safety of students' belongings.
