Governor Yamaguchi of Saga Prefecture announced at the meeting of the prefecture's novel coronavirus countermeasures headquarters that he would request the government to extend priority measures such as prevention of spread on the 16th.

The prefecture wants to adjust the extension period to about two weeks, keeping an eye on national trends.

This was revealed by Governor Yamaguchi at the prefecture's New Corona Countermeasures Conference held after 5:30 pm.

According to this, on the 16th, the government will be requested to extend the deadline set by February 20 for priority measures such as spread prevention, which are requesting restaurants to shorten business hours.

Regarding the reason for the extension, Governor Yamaguchi said that although the infection among younger generations such as elementary schools and kindergartens, which had continued since last month, is on the decline, the infection spread to the elderly in February, and the number of hospitalized patients with moderate illness is increasing. He mentioned that the burden on the medical field is increasing.

Regarding the extension period, Saga Prefecture has indicated that it will adjust it so that it can be canceled in about two weeks while keeping an eye on national trends.

Governor Yamaguchi said, "It is painful to put more burden on businesses and citizens of the prefecture by extending it, but I would like you to cooperate to protect the harsh medical environment," based on the continued request for shortening business hours to restaurants. I asked for understanding.
