Postponement of nucleic acid testing for the start of school

Ensuring the safety of teachers and students returning to school

The winter vacation is coming to an end, and universities, primary and secondary schools, and kindergartens in various places will usher in the spring semester. Education departments and colleges and universities have proposed to suspend the start of school and conduct regular nucleic acid testing to ensure the safety of teachers and students.

The Ministry of Education issued a notice a few days ago, deploying local education departments and universities to scientifically and accurately do a good job in epidemic prevention and control in the spring semester of 2022 to ensure a safe start of school.

The notice requires strict implementation of normalized epidemic prevention and control measures.

With the support of the local epidemic prevention and control leading group (command), the nucleic acid testing system for teachers, students and employees will be carried out on a regular basis for all or a certain proportion of the staff.

Some regions have also proposed to carry out nucleic acid testing on campuses on a regular basis.

Ningxia proposed that starting from the spring semester of 2022, counties (cities, districts) should organize the first round of sampling as soon as possible according to the school reopening situation in their jurisdictions, and then carry out testing once a month.

In addition, many places have proposed to delay the start of school in the spring.

For example, on the 14th, Suzhou, Jiangsu proposed to suspend the opening of primary and secondary schools and kindergartens in the city, and all offline training institutions should be suspended.

Some colleges and universities have also proposed to postpone the start of the semester.

A number of colleges and universities in Beijing have released arrangements for the start of the 2022 spring semester and their return to school, clearly delaying the time for students to return to school. Students will conduct online learning after the start of school, and organize students to return to school in batches in accordance with the principle of "phases and batches, staggered times and peaks".

Soochow University issued a notice stating that students in the spring semester will be postponed to return to campus, and all students will not be allowed to return to campus in advance.

Online teaching will start on February 21.
