After the "7.20" heavy rainstorm disaster, the first batch of 285 affected villagers in Gongyi, Henan were "divided" into new homes

  On the day of the Lantern Festival, representatives of the first batch of 285 villagers in Gongyi, Henan, who were resettled in the new village model, got the keys to their new homes.

The reporter learned from the Gongyi Municipal Government that before the end of this year, the affected people can fully move back to their new homes.

  It is understood that after the "7.20" torrential rain disaster, the Gongyi Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government regarded the post-disaster restoration and reconstruction of rural housing as the No. 1 livelihood project, and made every effort to speed up the restoration and reconstruction.

At present, 7,256 households that need to be repaired and strengthened have all been completed, 495 households have been rebuilt on the original site, 210 new households have been newly built in the same village, and 398 households with monetary compensation have all completed the purchase of houses.

All 186 households resettled in the existing house model have signed resettlement agreements, and some of them have been relocated.

In the centralized reconstruction and resettlement, 14 projects of 24 community model projects are under main construction. Among the 25 new village model projects, Shuidihe Village of Beishankou Town, Houquangou Village of Yong'an Road Sub-district, Guandian Village of Dayugou Town, Shedian Village of Beishankou Town, etc. Five centralized resettlement projects, including Shangzhuang Village, Mihe Town, and Weizhai Village, Mihe Town, have been completed, involving 285 farmers.
