Recently, the police station of Beixinzhuang Town, Renqiu City, Hebei Province received a call for help from Li Xiaohai, who said that he found an injured large bird on his way home last night and was unable to fly due to a leg injury.

In order to prevent the bird from being hurt again, he has taken it home to take care of it, and asked the public security police to come and help.

  After receiving the alarm, the police rushed to the scene as soon as possible and contacted the relevant person in charge of the Natural Resources Planning Bureau of Renqiu City and the Baiyangdian Wetland Ecological Wildlife Conservation Volunteer Team for assistance.

Professionals have identified the large bird as an adult male Great Bustard, a national first-class protected animal, and there are only more than 1,000 left in China.

  It is understood that the great bustard is one of the largest flying birds in the world, a national first-class protected animal in China, and the bird with the largest weight difference between male and female birds in the world. Farmland and grassland, live in groups, eat both weeds and locusts and other pests.

At present, this great bustard is temporarily in charge of post-treatment by the Cangzhou Wildlife Rescue Center, and will be released into nature after it recovers.
