A gang eats the hearts of its victims and causes terror in Mexico

Mexico is living in a state of fear as videos spread of gang members killing their opponents and then eating their hearts, as part of a ritual imposed by the gang on those wishing to join it.

Last month, a gang called the "Jalisco New Generation" filmed a member of it eating the heart of a competitor, right after it was ripped from his chest after he was murdered, in the state of Zacatecas.

According to "Sky News", the gang has become one of the most powerful gangs in the country, operating in at least 35 states across Mexico and Puerto Rico, according to the British newspaper, Daily Mail.

The gang, led by Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, began to practice cannibalism as part of intimidation tactics, exposing their fearsome criminal tactics to threaten rival groups and demonstrate their dominance.

The gang members are taught fighting techniques and how to use small arms in the camps, which are set up in secret locations across the state of Zacatecas.

They are usually forced within 3 to 4 months to eat human flesh, as part of the training.

A former member of the gang told the American newspaper, "The Daily Beast", that "they must do this without reacting or vomiting, or they will be beaten."

The horrific training also included forcing the new soldiers to sleep next to the corpses at night to "reduce their sensitivity."

Militants who violate the gang's rules, such as revealing their training sites, are brutally murdered in front of other members.
