In response to a series of damage to agricultural products by monkeys in the mountainous area of Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, the city and the local JA will start an initiative to drive away monkeys using drones, and a flight test will be conducted on the 15th. I did it.

In the floating island area and Aitaka area in the mountains in the western part of Numazu city, monkeys have been damaging crops one after another, and according to the city, the agricultural damage caused by wild birds and beasts last year amounted to more than 21 million yen.

In response to this, Numazu City and the local JA will start a new initiative to drive away monkeys using drones, and on the 15th, about 20 people including the city, JA staff, and farmers will fly at the local square. I did a test.

The drone to be used is equipped with a function to sound an alarm, and it is expected to threaten and drive away monkeys, and the participating farmers actually use the remote control while learning the operation method from the man invited as a lecturer. I was flying a drone.

Takashi Ito, chief of the Agriculture, Forestry and Agricultural Land Division of Numazu City, said, "We have taken measures such as installing traps, but it was difficult to catch monkeys. It is the first attempt to use a drone as a measure against birds and beasts. , I want to work together with the farmers. "

The city and JA are planning to start full-scale measures using drones from March.
