The French actress, who was to receive the Honorary Golden Bear at the Berlinale on Tuesday for her entire career, will not be able to travel to the German capital, having tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday.

"Since Isabelle Huppert does not feel sick and wishes to support the festival", the ceremony for the presentation of the Golden Bear of Honor is maintained on Tuesday evening, but with a video intervention by the French star, announced Monday evening the organizers.

The actress is also showing an out-of-competition film,

A shorter edition

In the midst of a wave of Omicron variants in Germany, the 72nd edition of the Berlinale had to revise its ambitions: the race for the Golden Bear only lasts a week, until February 16, compared to ten days of usual, with gauges.

Eighteen films, including seven signed by female directors, are in competition to succeed Romanian Radu Jude, who won the 2021 Golden Bear.
