New York .. More than 1,400 employees have been dismissed for refusing to receive a “Corona” vaccine

The New York City mayor's office announced the layoff of more than 1,400 city employees who refused to be vaccinated against the Corona virus.

According to CBS News, the 1,430 worker's firings represent less than 1% of the city's workforce of 370,000 people, and the number of layoffs is much lower than expected before Friday's deadline for vaccinations.

The city sent notices in late January to nearly 4,000 workers, saying they must provide proof that they have had at least two doses of the vaccine or they will lose their jobs.

And three-quarters of those workers have been on unpaid leave for months after they missed an earlier deadline to get vaccinated in order to stay in their jobs.
