"The Upper Egypt massacre"... a "Shabu" addict kills his parents and his wife and is killed by the police

Three people from one family were killed in a "massacre" in the village of Abu Manna, affiliated to the Deshna Center in Qena Governorate in southern Egypt, where a young man shot dead his parents and wife and injuring his sister and husband, according to Al-Ahram newspaper.

The newspaper said that the security services had received a report from the residents of hearing the sounds of gunshots inside a house in the village around three o'clock after midnight on Sunday, and immediately the security services and ambulances moved there.

Investigations indicated that the accused had been suffering from a mental illness for some time as a result of his addiction to the drug “Shabu”, and his family tried to convince him to treat him more than once, but he refused, and in the last time, they tried to catch him by force to take him to the doctor for treatment, but he refused and got agitated. He grabbed a gun and fired fire on his family.

Al-Ahram newspaper said that the police tried to arrest the suspect in a private residence under construction on agricultural land in the center's district, but he opened fire, and the forces reciprocated him, which led to his death and a machine gun and a large number of bullets were found next to him.

The confrontation with the accused resulted in the injury of an officer who was taken to hospital for treatment.

The newspaper, "Al-Youm Al-Sabea", said that the accused is a "drug addict", a dangerous recorder, and was imprisoned for cases and had a psychological condition.
