Picnics are again possible in Reunion since this Sunday.

This activity, traditionally popular with families on the island, has been prohibited since November 15 due to the health crisis linked to Covid-19.

On site, the rate of virus contamination remains high.

The figures are higher than the national average, indicates La Première.

Conditions to respect

Jacques Billant, prefect of Reunion, had however announced the lifting of this rule intended to curb the circulation of the coronavirus on February 7.

The representative of the State specified that the picnics remained prohibited if they united participants not belonging to the same family or exceeding the number of six.

Under the same conditions, bivouacs are also allowed since this Sunday.

Reunion nevertheless remains subject to a curfew every day between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

The latter will be effective until February 20 at least.
