Fawaz Al-Qutayfan returned to his family.. What about the child Salam, who disappeared more than two years ago

The story of the kidnapping of the Syrian child, Fawaz al-Qutayfan, son of Daraa governorate, and his return to his family after paying the required amount from the unknown kidnapper, caused a lot of pain for families experiencing the same severe ordeal, but without any glimmer of hope.

The story of Fawaz al-Qutayfan, the son of Daraa Governorate, brought to mind other tragedies that were unlucky and shed light on them, so they remained in the dark, the details of which are unknown, such as the child Salam Hassan al-Khalaf.

Two years ago, 8-year-old Salam, from the town of Al-Taybeh in the eastern countryside of Daraa, was kidnapped in March 2020, while returning from school to her home.

According to the information that was available at the time, unknown persons riding in a H1 van intercepted the girl, and she was taken to an unknown destination, and then no news of her since that date.

Her clothes and school bag were also found in one of the farms near the town of Al-Taybeh in the eastern countryside of Daraa, a month after her disappearance.

Her relatives confirmed that her news was completely cut off, while many people contacted them with the aim of deceiving them, asking for a sum of money in exchange for the return of peace, according to what the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported.

The fate of the girl is still unknown until now, amid fears for her life.

It is noteworthy that the story of the kidnapping of the Syrian child, Fawaz Al-Qatifan, has turned into a public opinion issue during the past days, following the circulation of a video clip in which he appeared asking unknown people to stop beating him, shouting, "For God's sake, don't hit me."
