[New Year Chronicle] Fangxian, Hubei: Fire dragons go out to the streets to make Lantern Festival
Fangxian, Hubei, on February 13th, on the morning of the 13th day of the first lunar month, Fangxian folk performances and the finishing touch ceremony were held on Xiguan Street (Xiguan Impression).
Fangxian Fire Dragon, according to legend, began in the Tang Dynasty, flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and has been handed down to this day.
The fire dragon in Fangxian County lights up on the 13th of the first lunar month every year, and the lanterns play from the 14th to the 16th of the first lunar month. It has become an indispensable folk art project in Fangxian County during the Spring Festival.
