Professor at Al-Azhar: What does Ragheb Alama want from us?

Professor at Al-Azhar University, Muhammad Al-Ashmawy, attacked the Lebanese artist, Ragheb Alama, for his statement that a man came to him at a party and told him that his wife loved him, and that if he did not accept her, she would ask for a divorce.

In a Facebook post, Al-Ashmawy asked: "What does he want to say? What message does he want to convey? What is the purpose of publishing this disgraceful and insulting statement that disparages religion, norms, and laws?"

He added: "Isn't this a call to spread immorality among men, to spread immorality and incitement to it, a violation of morals, and an aggression against the values of society?"

He continued, "I hope the press will pay attention to its true mission of spreading awareness, and stay away from these disgusting things."

Alama said in a television interview that he "loves the title of a woman's singer, because it expresses her feelings."

As for the female admirers in his life, he recounted a strange situation during a party, where one of the men told him, according to him, that "his wife loves him, and that if he does not kiss her, she will divorce him."
