A child committed suicide by hanging in Mila, Algeria
A 9-year-old boy was hanged in a place called Mashtat Zouabi, Chigara municipality, in the Algerian state of Mila, An-Nahar newspaper reported.
A statement from the civil protection interests in Mila said: "The Secondary Protection Unit of Sidi Marwan intervened yesterday, Friday, to evacuate and transfer the body of a child in Mashta Al-Zawabi in the Chigara municipality."
The statement added that the child's body was found in the middle of an orchard, about 30 meters from the family residence.
The statement confirmed that "the victim died on the spot, with traces of hanging around the neck, and he was transferred to the mortuary department at Mila Hospital."
The possible cause remains a case of suicide by a metal wire attached to a tree, and the victim was lowered before the ambulance reached the spot, according to the newspaper, "An-Nahar".
