On February 11, a spotted seal cub, a national first-class protected animal, was found on a beach in Longkou, Yantai, Shandong.
A team of local experts was dispatched to the scene for rescue.
It was judged that the cub had just been born and was still breastfeeding, and did not have the ability to survive alone in the wild.
The rescue experts immediately transferred the spotted seal pups to the Penglai Ocean Polar World Aquatic Wildlife Rescue Center for feeding and observation.
The staff will release it in due course and let it return to nature.
