On the night of the 11th, a cargo flight arriving at Narita Airport had a missing part that was about 4 meters long and weighed 60 kilograms. I'm investigating the cause by assuming it.

According to the Narita Airport Office of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the parts attached to the wings of Nippon Cargo Airlines' Boeing 747, which arrived at Narita Airport from Shanghai, China, after 9 pm on the 11th, were missing. I found out in a later inspection.

The part is the cover of the part that moves the flap of the left wing, made of plastic and partly metal, it is 4 meters 40 cm long, 60 cm wide, weighs 60 kg, and according to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism classification of aircraft It corresponds to the largest category of falling parts.

No parts were found when the Narita Airport Company inspected the runway on the night of the 11th, but on the morning of the 12th, the missing parts were almost intact on the west side of the runway where the aircraft landed. It means that it was found.

The airline is investigating the cause, assuming that it fell during landing.

In addition, the Narita Airport Office will instruct airlines in the future by issuing documents requesting investigation of the cause and prevention of recurrence.
