Etna volcano in Sicily has erupted again.
On Thursday evening, the largest active volcano in Europe spewed lava fountains, three streams of glowing rock flowed a few hundred meters down the mountain.
A column of smoke of around 8000 meters rose into the sky, as announced by the National Institute for Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV).
According to the information, no more lava came out of the volcano on the Mediterranean island on Friday morning.
However, an ash cloud continues to flow out of the crater.
Operations at Catania Airport, at the foot of Mount Etna, have not been disrupted.
The volcano has erupted several times in the past year.
In the surrounding villages and towns, it was mainly the ash that caused trouble and minor damage.
Air traffic at Catania Airport also had to be interrupted again and again.
