The Wall Street crocodile and her husband are accused of laundering $4.5 billion in cryptocurrency money

CNN has announced the arrest of 34-year-old Ilya Lichtenstein and his 31-year-old wife, Heather Morgan, on charges of collusion to launder $4.5 billion in stolen crypto funds.

According to the American news network, the pair were arrested from New York after a 6-year investigation into the hacking of a virtual exchange.

CNN said that so far, officials have seized $3.6 billion of those funds, which is "the largest seizure in the history of US law enforcement," according to US Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco.

She noted that the arrest is a huge win for law enforcement, amid a growing number of thefts on cryptocurrency platforms, with hackers stealing hundreds of millions of dollars in recent years.

The duo had an interesting online presence, and Heather Morgan posted rap videos online under the name Razzie Icahn, calling herself the Crocodile of Wall Street.

She was also a contributor to Forbes & Inc, and in a 2020 article she wrote about protecting your business from cybercriminals.
