This is the end of the soap opera of the open-air limestone quarry project at Fond-de-Vaux, a site on the border between Méry-sur-Oise and Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône (Val-d'Oise).

Indeed, the Fond de Vaux development company (Safv) and the Ect company have decided to throw in the towel, reports La Gazette du Val-d'Oise on Thursday.

This project had already been withdrawn for the first time before being put on the table again.

But the site leaders preferred to give up a second time even though the opinion of the commissioner-investigator had not yet been given.

The Fond de Vaux development company (Safv) and the Ect company therefore notified the Val-d'Oise prefecture that they were withdrawing, certainly preferring to anticipate an unfavorable opinion.

Elected officials and residents satisfied with this decision

During the municipal council of Méry-sur-Oise, the announcement of this decision delighted the majority but also the opposition.

For local residents, some of whom had strongly mobilized to express their disagreement with this project, satisfaction was also in order.
