INTERVIEW

This is the great novelty of the new season of

The Voice

, which starts on Saturday evening on TF1: the arrival of a surprise coach.

A role that falls to the singer Nolwenn Leroy.

Guest of

Culture Médias

Friday, the artist details at the microphone of Philippe Vandel behind the scenes of this role which will make the happiness of the unfortunate candidates.

"It was great to have this opportunity to be able to draft four non-selected during the auditions and give them another chance to go, that's all I wish for them, until the end of the show “, hopes Nolwenn Leroy.

Candidates who were unaware of the existence of the surprise coach

During their unfortunate audition facing the backs of the four red armchairs, the candidates did not know that a mystery coach could fish them out.

"And precisely, that's what's interesting. It's that they gave everything, without thinking that there was possibly this chance of being able to reintegrate the program", rejoices the singer who left victorious in 2002 from the

Star Academy

Season 2

.

It was therefore the production of

The Voice

who called them and surprised them with their rescue.

"The candidates came back and found me around the piano for the coaching of the battles", specifies the mystery coach.

"It was crazy, I was super moved to meet them. I had never seen them, unlike the other coaches who meet them during the audition. It was beautiful."

Auditions viewed a posteriori

To choose the four unsuccessful candidates to whom she wanted to give a second chance, Nolwenn Leroy was not present during the blind auditions.

She watched them afterwards.

"I watched all the blind auditions on which the coaches did not return. I saw part of them during the Christmas fortnight, then the rest afterwards, in a small well-appointed place near the set", she details.

"I really got into shape, closing my eyes," recalls the mystery coach.

"Because that's really what I prefer as a viewer in this program: being able to discover a voice without having any element around it. There is a very human side to this role of surprise coach, and an empathy towards the talents which is increased tenfold."

To find out who coaches Florent Pagny, Amel Bent, Marc Lavoine and Vianney will select, and who will save Nolwenn Leroy, you will have to watch the launch of season 2 of

The Voice

on Saturday evening on TF1.
