In the Val-de-Marne, the number of recipients of active solidarity income (RSA) worries local elected officials.

At the start of 2022, the department counted some 45,000 beneficiaries of this social benefit, reports

Half is accompanied by Pôle emploi, the other depends on the departmental council.

In charge for a little over six months, the new executive (LR) wishes to put in place “an active policy of return to employment of RSA beneficiaries”

304 million euros in 2021

In practice, the presidency wants to impose the compulsory signature of a reciprocal commitment contract (CER) by all 22,000 recipients under the department.

Currently, 14,000 of them have not signed this contract which determines the actions to be carried out by the two parties.

The Department undertakes to increase the number of advisers and social workers and to finance the fixed costs of the beneficiaries by delivering them “access to employment kits”.

In 2021, the departmental council had devoted 304 million euros to the payment of the RSA.
