The tragedy of "Azhar"... The story of a woman who shook Upper Egypt and lived a love story

The Egyptian media circulated the story of a woman in Upper Egypt living in Luxor Governorate that shook the country, after she revealed that she had found that she had a penchant for masculine acts since she was young.

The Egyptian media said that the girl is called Azhar Mohamed El-Desouky Mahmoud, who lives in the village of Qebli Qamola, affiliated to the center and city of Luxor on the western mainland, and she is 34 years old.

Azhar, or Muhammad al-Desouki, says that he was born with a female body, and when he got older and enrolled in school, he began siding with the characteristics of men, as he preferred to befriend males at school, who were staying away from him because he was idolatrous.

Muhammad Al-Desouki added that he was keen to wear men’s clothes, which caused him problems with his teacher in the class, which was a succession of the man’s dress, seeing that he was a girl, but Muhammad insisted on men’s clothes, until the teacher referred the matter to the school director, who summoned his guardian Hence, he decided to leave school.

Muhammad al-Desouki explains that at the age of 15 his family forced him to marry, and a year later the divorce took place after the husband took him to a gynecologist and obstetrician, who spoke to him away from Azhar, so he decided to divorce her.

Muhammad concludes his talk that he is living a love story with a girl, and is waiting for the completion of the surgical operation for the reproductive system, and he also hopes that officials will intervene to help him, in the remaining transfer process for him, and change his name on the ID card to Muhammad instead of Azhar.

Azhar, who wears men's clothing as a shawl and a Saedi gown, hopes that President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and the Cabinet will adopt her story and solve it radically.
