The death of Kuwaiti astronomer Saleh Al-Ajiri
The famous Kuwaiti astronomer Saleh Al-Ajiri passed away today, Thursday, at the age of 101, according to Al-Qabas newspaper.
Personalities, celebrities and citizens of Kuwait and the Gulf mourned Al-Ajiri, who presented many important researches in astronomy, via the Twitter networking site, using the hashtag Saleh Al-Ajiri.
The late was one of the most prominent and brilliant astronomers in Kuwait and the region.
Saleh Al-Ajiri was born in Kuwait City, the tribal district, in 1921. He is the owner of the famous Al-Ujairi calendar, which is distinguished by its accurate calculations. The State of Kuwait has officially adopted this calendar in all its official transactions.
Kuwait honored him for his achievements, and Kuwait University awarded him an honorary doctorate in sciences in 1981 and a medal of the Cooperation Council for Science in 1988.
