The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the suspicion that it had been repeatedly inspected for fraudulent vehicles for about five years.

Two people were arrested, including Yoshihiro Fujimoto (65), an officer of a private vehicle inspection station in Futtsu City, Chiba Prefecture.



According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, it is suspected that the two men received about 180,000 yen in cash as a bribe in return for illegally passing the vehicle inspection for two trucks that were illegally remodeled with flashy decorations.



Since the officers of the private vehicle inspection station are "deemed civil servants" who act for the national inspection work, the charges of weighted bribery were applied.



In addition, two people, including Hiroshi Itakura (57), the president of a building materials transportation company in Chiba prefecture, were arrested on suspicion of bribery for bribery.



In response to the investigation, all of them admitted the charges, and among them, Mr. Fujimoto stated that he wanted money. He wanted to make the company bigger.



The Metropolitan Police Department has repeatedly inspected more than 800 fraudulent vehicles such as trucks in about five years until the end of the year, and is investigating suspected bribes.
