The person arrested was Suga Toshitada (48), whose address is unknown and whose occupation is unknown.

According to the Police Agency, in October last year, 50 cardboard boxes containing rubber gloves were smuggled from Malaysia with a total of about 30 kg of stimulants and a smuggling price of 1.8 billion yen at the end, and it was suspected of violating the Stimulants Control Law. Customs inspected the luggage that arrived at Narita Airport via China and found that a stimulant was hidden in the gap between the lids.

Last year, another person was arrested and charged with receiving the cargo in Yokohama City, and a subsequent investigation revealed that Suga was suspected of instructing him to receive the cargo.

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the acquisition route in detail, assuming that overseas smuggling groups are involved.

In response to the investigation, he denied the charges, saying, "I asked for the luggage, but I didn't know that the contents were stimulants."
