“They did it in me, they laughed at me”: A video clip by artist Mohamed Ramadan raises widespread controversy

The Egyptian artist, Mohamed Ramadan, raised the controversy again, after the release of his latest songs, entitled "By Bye Secondary", in the style of a video clip, which came close to achieving about two million views within two days of its release.

As usual, Muhammad Ramadan was subjected to harsh criticism on social networking sites, as he appeared in the clip embodying the role of a high school student, and while he prepares to study, he is busy with other things because of bad friends who give him a cigarette containing cannabis.

The audience criticized the content of the video clip and some of its scenes, which they described as inappropriate. The clip began with a cigarette of hashish, and then the artist moved to another world and saw hallucinations around him, such as a girl wearing a pharaonic dress and dancing.

For his part, the clip's director, Yasser Sami, defended the clip, considering that raising controversy is the hallmark of the success of the artist's work, Mohamed Ramadan.

He added in a telephone interview that the controversy expresses the opinion of the public, including supporters and opponents, noting that there is no problem with the clip and that it is suitable for all ages, especially that Ramadan presented the negative model and how it was confronted by quitting smoking, studying and staying away from the corrupt group.

He added that the clip's scenes indicate that this work is rejected and a warning to high school students from bad friends, pointing out that the clip sends a message to every home in which there is a high school student, and how to deal with them before exams.
