The film, which is released today in cinemas, features Gal Gadot in the role of Linnet Ridgeway, murdered during a cruise on the Nile... But who committed the crime?

The honeymoon turns into a nightmare

On the Nile, sails the Karnak, a luxury cruise ship.

On board, a wealthy heiress, Linnet Ridgeway (Gal Gadot), and Simon Doyle (Armie Hammer), enjoy their honeymoon while trying to escape Jacqueline de Bellefort (Emma Mackey), Doyle's ex-fiancée. and Linnet's former best friend.

What was supposed to be a honeymoon turns into a nightmare: the young bride is murdered.

On board as a passenger, Hercule Poirot is entrusted with the investigation by the captain of the boat.

And he is not the only one to untangle the thread of this investigation: the spectators too.

Agatha Christie, still popular in 2022

Because Agatha Christie, at the origin of this story adapted to the cinema, had made sure that her readers took part in the investigation.

And it is for this reason that his books are still read today, according to Marie-Hélène Baylac, specialist in Agatha Christie.

"She associates the reader with the search for the crime. She appeals to her sense of deduction, to her intelligence", she explains on Europe 1. "Besides, she does not like bloodshed, violence for violence's sake, so it has a large audience".

And, as in all Agatha Christies, there is the final revelation, which you can discover in dark rooms this Wednesday.
