It is far from being a decline yet, but according to the latest bulletin from the Occitanie Regional Health Agency, “the number of new cases is finally falling”.

The number of Covid-19 contaminations has indeed fallen above the 25,000 mark per day, which had not happened since the week of January 17.

[#Covid19] After the peak, another strong epidemic impact in #Occitanie.

The number of new cases is finally decreasing, but 2885 people are hospitalized at the moment.

The virus is still very active.

If these figures remain an "encouraging signal", for the health authorities "the indicators are still very high".

Indeed, nearly 2,900 people were still hospitalized Tuesday evening for a covid case, including 344 in intensive care and critical care.

Admittedly, this figure has fallen by 7% over the past seven days, but this is also explained by the number of deaths has increased with no less than 118 deaths from the coronavirus over the past four days.

In fact, hospital tension remains high in medical services (+10%) or in follow-up and rehabilitation care (+24%).

Thus, the Toulouse University Hospital was taking care of 251 patients positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday evening, against 222 a week earlier.
