The 99-year-old returns to school. She dreams of becoming a doctor

In a stone-built classroom in Kenya's rural Rift Valley, Priscilla Cetiny, who will turn 99 on Friday, sits down to take notes alongside students 80 years younger than her.

Priscilla Setini wore the school uniform, consisting of a gray dress and a green jacket, and said that she wanted to return to school to set an example for her grandchildren, and to seek a new career.

She added, "I want to become a doctor, because I used to work as a midwife," noting that her children supported her decision.

According to Reuters, the Kenyan government began subsidizing primary education costs in 2003, allowing some of the older people who had dropped out to return to school to pursue their dreams, including Cetney, who traveled to Paris last year to shoot a film about her story, entitled "Gogo", which means "grandmother" in the local language.

She will also travel to New York to attend the film's screening there.

Now in sixth grade, Cetiny said she also enjoys other school activities with her grandchildren, including physical education lessons.

Teachers use her extensive experience to maintain calm during lessons.

Her teacher, Leonida Tallam, said, 'I make her watch the classroom for troublemakers.

And I succeeded in that, when I leave the hall, it remains calm.”
