Homemade juice will make you cry, but it will help you grow your hair in two weeks

Hair loss may seem insurmountable, but research has settled on a number of natural solutions and evidence emerged of a home remedy that can stimulate hair growth, with one blogger even noticing results within two weeks.

“Losing your hair can be a challenging experience and can lead to a lack of self-confidence, negative self-image and even social isolation,” said Sam Senker, a leading hair transplant surgeon and CEO of hair and skin specialist Este Medical Group. “Hair loss can often be treated successfully. Depending on the type and severity, thanks to continuous improvements in technology and research, many sufferers are looking for different ways to stop the deterioration and promote hair growth, and onion juice is one of the most popular home remedies.

Onion juice is thought to improve blood circulation around the hair follicles, which is vital because insufficient blood flow deprives your hair of essential nutrients and leaves it at risk of breakage or shedding.

According to the British newspaper "Express", the most famous study to date was published in the Journal of Dermatology.

The clinical trial investigated the ability of onion juice to treat alopecia areata, an autoimmune disorder that typically results in patchy and unexpected hair loss.

The researchers recruited 38 patients and placed them in two groups: one used onion juice on the scalp twice daily for two months and the other used tap water.

After six weeks, 20 of the 23 patients in the onion juice group reported hair growth compared to only two of the 15 patients in the tap water group.

The researchers concluded, "The current study showed that the use of raw onion juice gave significantly higher results with regard to hair regrowth compared to tap water, and that it could be an effective topical treatment for alopecia areata."

Success stories are also reported in online blogs.

One user said: "I have been using onion juice for the past two weeks and new hairs have started to grow. Extract the onion juice, gently apply it to your bald scalp and leave it on for over two hours or overnight if you are comfortable with the smell."

Experts recommend blending onions in a blender to extract the juice, then leaving it on the scalp for at least 15 minutes.
