This is information that

Koh-Lanta

would have done well a few days before the launch of its new season.

Le Canard enchaîné

reveals this Wednesday that one of the candidates for

Totem cursed

, the first episode of which will be broadcast on February 22 on TF1, Commander François, a 38-year-old firefighter, was indicted for manslaughter concerning facts dating back to August 10, 2016.

That day, he intervened to put out a fire in a forest near Gabian (Hérault).

One of the firefighters, Jérémy, a 24-year-old sergeant, died there and three others were seriously injured.

François, like six other members of the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis) are under investigation.

They were indicted, suspected "of having given the troop inappropriate, sometimes contradictory orders, and provided insufficient training with inappropriate equipment" advances

Le Canard enchaîné

, specifying that they are presumed innocent.

"The information about him was not public"

Adventure Line Productions (ALP), which produces Koh-Lanta, assured our colleagues to ignore these elements.

“The information about him was not public and it is covered by the secrecy of the instruction,” the company said.

People applying for the show must let them know if they have been sentenced by the courts.

"François told us that he was not the subject of any conviction and sent us an extract from his criminal record," says ALP.

His indictment does not call into question these elements since he is at this stage of the procedure legally presumed innocent.
