• W9 offers this Tuesday evening an exceptional evening: the return of the

    Hit Machine

     hosted by Charly and Lulu.

  • Larusso, Tragédie, Willy Denzey, Worlds Apart or even Yannick and L5 (the five!) are all back to perform their hits from the 90s and 2000s.

  • "We are totally different but it takes real chemistry for the duo to work," says the pair at

    20 Minutes .

His name is Charlie.

And his name is Lulu.

They are on W9 for the

Hit Machine

.

This Tuesday, in the company of a crazy audience, they return to the air for an exceptional bonus devoted to the program which rocked Saturday mornings on M6 from 1994 to 2009. In mid-November, the two hosts were at the Dôme de Paris to record this program which sees the return of L5, Larusso, Tragédie, Willy Denzey, Worlds Apart and Yannick.

A few minutes from setting foot on the stage,

20 Minutes

interviewed the singers of the tube

Le feu ça brûlée

, which they will of course perform during the evening.

What state of mind are you in before going on stage?

Charly

: Serene and happy.

We are coming to a great period of nostalgia for the 90s and 2000s. We happen to have been part of it.

We've been doing a few galas since this summer.

What is very nice is that we go to cities, villages, there are a lot of concerts organized with artists that we have known well.

There, we add cameras so it's a different atmosphere but we are obviously delighted.

We meet behind the scenes with the artists as in the great era.

I could be wrong but I have the impression that there is a weird thing that has always happened in the corridors of the

Hit Machine

, a kind of alchemy with the artists, the technicians, the assistants, the animators...

Lulu

: I hadn't seen Obispo for fifteen years.

We see it and we are friends again.

The artists were happy to come to us.

Charly

: We find the same thing.

The L5s are as if we left them yesterday.

Beyond the image of the

Hit Machine

and the set, what is extraordinary is also what was happening behind it.

What will we find in the show?

Charly

: The idea is to find exactly all the benchmarks of the

Hit Machine

, that is to say the artists on stage who play their hits, it's great.

Lulu

: And above all a high-level presentation!

Charly

: I was going to come there.

We find the two zigotos who presented at the time.

I think the viewer, when he turns on his screen, will say that it reminds him of something.

Lulu

: We've always made TV while having fun.

What worked was that having fun amused others.

We only know how to do that.

To be boring, there are plenty of others.

Besides, I have the names (laughs).

Is it surprising for you to find yourself on a TV show twenty years later?

Charly

: Surprisingly, no.

Finally yes and no.

No, because it's our job and it's a program that we know well, so everything is fine.

And yes, because television has changed a little bit, music has less place today.

It's good that a channel like W9 takes the risk of doing it.

How did you prepare this bonus?

Lulu

: Charly is interested in the thing so he works a lot.

But me, I do like when I was in sixth grade: I copy (laughs)

Charly

: Our duo is not a fictional duo.

It goes beyond television.

I know him well, he knows me well.

I know all his springs, which is much easier for the job.

I try to think of small details, both with the production but also for him, so that he is comfortable for the duo to work.

We are totally different but it takes real chemistry for the duo to work.

The "Hit Machine" returns for one night only.

And after ?

Charly

: In television, I don't think you should predict anything.

Television, it goes, it comes.

We do not know.

We're having a lot of fun doing this show and we'll see what happens.

What is important is to please the public, the artists and try to please us.

It's like a birthday, you try to get it right but you don't care about the next year's one.

You focus on what you're doing and that's what we're going to try to do.

Could you find the artists you are hosting tonight as part of a tour?

Charly

: Olivier Kaefer is working hard to set up a tour in 2022 called

Totalement 90

.

We had the chance to do a tour in 2011 and we loved it because it was our first.

If we have the opportunity to do another, we would be delighted.
