A biopic about American singer Michael Jackson will be filmed in the US, Variety reports.

The tape, called "Michael", will be produced by Oscar-winning producer Graham King, who worked on the films "The Departed", "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "World War Z".

John Logan is involved as a screenwriter for the project.

His filmography includes the tapes "Gladiator", "The Last Samurai", "Aviator".

The project will be released under the auspices of the studio Lionsgate with the support of the family of Michael Jackson.

“Since childhood, while still a member of The Jackson 5, Michael loved the magic of cinema.

We, as a family, are honored that the story of our life will come to life on the big screen, ”says the singer’s mother Katherine Jackson.

“I met the Jackson family in 1981 and I'm honored to bring their legacy to the big screen.

Sitting in Dodger Stadium for the Victory tour, I never imagined that almost 38 years later I would be part of a movie like this,” recalls Graham King.

The project is expected to cover both the artist's professional and personal life.

"Michael" will present viewers with a detailed portrait of the complex man who became the king of pop.

The film will explore in detail the artist's creative process and personal life, as well as recreate some of Jackson's most iconic performances.

The musician's hits include Billie Jean, Beat It, Bad, Smooth Criminal, Black or White and many others.

Rich heritage and high-profile scandals

The most sensational picture about Michael Jackson was the two-part HBO documentary Leaving Neverland in 2019.

It focuses on allegations of pedophilia against the artist.

The heroes of the film were two men who claimed that they were sexually harassed by Jackson as a child.

The film also provides details of the trials related to the allegations made at different times.

Some of their defendants eventually denied rumors of a sexual relationship with the musician.

In one of the cases under consideration, Jackson was acquitted due to lack of evidence.

One of Michael Jackson's property managers, John Branca, said that the authors of the scandalous film "composed a damn tall tale for the sake of profit."

According to him, the project was filmed in "complete secrecy" and the artist's confidants did not have the opportunity to clarify some points.

In addition, a number of different kinds of inconsistencies were found in the film.

“The Dan Reed documentary is full of inaccuracies, lies and deliberately false information.

They should be ashamed.

Michael is too big to fail,” Branca told Billboard.

The audience of the film was divided into two camps - some did not believe the facts presented or considered such a discussion after the death of Michael Jackson to be incorrect.

Others have established themselves in the opinion that the musician was a pedophile.

The release of the picture had a negative impact on the image of Michael Jackson.
