After a sunny Saturday in many places, the weather in Germany is already returning to its old course of the past few days on Sunday: the German Weather Service (DWD) is forecasting clouds, rain and sometimes strong winds well into the coming week.

The reason for this is the storm "Roxana", which moves from Iceland to Scandinavia on Sunday.

"Its foothills first reach northern Germany, on Sunday also the center and later the south of the country," said a DWD meteorologist on Saturday in Offenbach.

The result: continuous rain in the low mountain ranges, gusts of wind on the coasts and in the foothills of the Alps and uncomfortable daily maximum temperatures of three to nine degrees.

Especially in the Eifel and the Westerwald, up to 40 liters of rain per square meter can fall within 24 hours on Sunday.

The DWD issued corresponding warnings.

During the night of Monday, the snow line will slowly drop to around 500 meters.

It can snow heavily in the Alps.

"It is also important to pay attention to snowdrifts," said the meteorologist.

Only on Tuesday does the sun shine again from the Black Forest to the Inn.
