Moroccan official: The timing of the rescue of Rayan is unknown

The process of rescuing the child Ryan, who was stuck in a ground hole (a well) at a depth of about 32 meters, has reached very advanced stages.

A source from the local Moroccan authorities in Chefchaouen confirmed, in a press statement, that the ongoing rescue efforts have reached a very advanced stage.

The spokesman also highlighted, according to Hespress newspaper, that "it is difficult to determine a time space for the end of the process due to the nature of the land of the remaining part to be drilled in the horizontal gap connecting the well and the parallel hole."

He also stated, in the same statement, that "a medical helicopter belonging to the Royal Gendarmerie, and a medical and nursing staff specialized in resuscitation, were mobilized to take care of the child, Rayan, after he was taken out."

The official stated that "intervention and rescue teams have remained stationed at the site since the accident, and they have faced many difficulties, especially the collapse of the soil and the presence of rock blocks in some layers."
