Prince Andrew is to be questioned under oath in London on allegations of abuse in the New York civil trial.

The Duke of York agreed to be interviewed by lawyers for plaintiff Virginia Giuffre on March 10, a source close to the prince said Saturday.

On the other hand, "despite repeated requests, Giuffre still has not given a date or place for her own testimony".

Giuffre says he was sexually assaulted by Prince Andrew in 2001 when he was 17.

At the time, she was “loaned” to the British Royal by the late US sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The Queen's second-eldest son firmly rejects the allegations.

According to a report by the Daily Telegraph, the interrogation is to take place at a "neutral" location in London.

Accordingly, the 61-year-old prince is being prepared by his legal team in Great Britain for the two-day questioning by Giuffre's lawyers David Boies and Sigrid McCawley.

Giuffre's lawyers are also expected to question two UK-based witnesses, including Andrew's former assistant, Robert Olney.

The prince had recently announced that he wanted to face a jury trial.

This means that a civil lawsuit is becoming more and more likely in this case - even if an out-of-court settlement is still not ruled out.

Because of the allegations and his previous contacts with Epstein, Prince Andrew withdrew from his royal duties in 2019.

He has since also lost his military titles and royal patronage and has disabled several of his accounts on online networks.
